This was my first painting after a deep awakening and epiphany back in 2009. Free Spirit is all about breaking free from the illusions that bind. Illusions & self belief systems of who we think we are and what we are capable of.
She is free, free of suffering, free of inner turmoil and free of the need to please others. She is alive, dancing her dance, singing her tune and walking her walk.
She is connected to Mother Earth and celebrates this bond with everything she does.
She's still one of my most favourites. My original artwork is the first painting I see when returning home. The moment I lay eyes upon her I feel her joy, courage and strength, inspiring me to keep going.
