Oneness
Drifting along a flowing stream
I found myself in a willowy dream
The river was tranquil and the day was bright
The dream was peaceful and felt so right
In the canoe sat an elderly man
With silver hair and a deep brown tan
Didn’t know him, though he felt like a guide
Was very comfortable with him by my side
As we drifted, the river did change
Very turbulent, so full of rage
I started feeling a little uneasy
Raging waters now making me queasy
As I panicked the elder said at me
Why so scared of the wavering sea
Don’t be afraid of the fall that’s near
Let go doubts and release your fear
Seeing a waterfall up ahead
Going over the edge I did dread
But I listened to the elder & released my fear
As the thunderous waterfall drew us near
Over the edge we then did go
Falling to our fate waiting below
But as we went over I felt no pain
My body changed to falling rain
Being one with the river, we couldn’t get hurt
So pain and disaster we did divert
Out of the waters we then did fly
Transformed to birds that flew up high
Again the elder spoke to me
How letting go can set us free
It is our fear that breaks us down
And to this fear most are bound
Trust in the river that flows
Have faith wherever it goes
There will be falls and darkness too
But how it ends is up to you
You can crash with the fall consumed with fright
Or react with, love, compassion and light
Reacting in love is not acting in haste
It’s surrendering in love that wins the race
We are one, united with all
To the largest of beings to the very small
Even when faced with hardship or trials
Stop& breathe and rest for a while
There will always be falls and dark cold nights
Many moments to fuel our fights
Rise up above this you have the strength
To go the distance to go the length...
